Huarakau - Te Reo Maori Term 4

We have been learning the names of fruit in Maori. Here are some we have learnt.

Reading

Here  is a screencastify of me reading my poem. We need to read clearly, with good pace, fluency  and expression.

In reading I am good at using expression.

I need to work on sounding out words I don't know. 

Pirate Code

Today we have been learning how to code a pirate to get to the treasure chest. The pirate started at the start and ended at the treasure. The pirate had to miss the bombs. Then I made my own code grid. Santa had to eat the cookie, drink the milk and finish at the candy cane.

Telling the time

We made a clock out of cardboard paper. We made a google draw and we had to tell the time. Here is my telling the time google draw.

Handwriting Term 4

Here is my handwriting for the beginning of Term 4.

    I  used  long  petals   and   small petals on my plate . I  like it when  fit was finished.

Art

My art was inspired by an artist named Kadinsky who used coloured circles in his work. We looked at the contrast between warm and cool colours and the black and white of the buildings.

I liked the way that I created my buildings. I need to work on my circles and using more warm colours.

Greats and Grands Day.

Last week we had our Greats and Grands day. We wrote poems for our grandparents. Here is my poem about why my grandparents are so special.

Basic Facts Test Term 3

Here is my basic facts for stage 4 for the end of term 3. I got 10 out of 60 in 3 minutes. I am very good at subtraction. I need to work on Doubles and halves.

Handwriting Term 4

Here is my writing sample for term 4 2018

I need to work on using capital letters correctly and writing neater.

Kauri art.

First we drew the clouds on with white crayon. Then we dyed the background blue. We finger painted the Kauri tree with brown, yellow, white, purple and black paint and glued on little pieces of green and yellow paper to make the leaves of the tree. Then we painted on the floor of the forest onto our pictures. Then we made slogan posters to tell everyone what to do around the Kauri tree.

We have been learning about Fractions. This is what I know about fractions.

We have been learning to work out multiplication problems involving 2 times tables. Here is some work I did. I needed a bit of help.

Garden To Table

  Each week  at  Garden to  table   we  are  either  in  the kitchen cooking  or in the  gardening  planting,weeding or watering.

We have been working on answering basic facts questions quickly and instantly.

I am at Stage 2-3.

We have been learning to form our letters correctly and to use capital letters in the correct place.

I am good at forming letters the right way.

I need to get better at doing tidier writing .

We have been learning how to play golf.

I liked Mr Golf doing press ups.

I am good at hitting the ball

I need to work on getting the ball up in the air.

Animal Town

This week we have used another picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and then we had to carry on the story.

What I like about my writing is the hook.

I need to improve on using capital letters.

Here is my writing about Animal Town.

Stretch! The giraffe put his long neck out through the glass window the energetic zebra ran quickly across the road.

I can see a beautiful lion sitting on the van.The bear is sitting in the van.

The Meerkats are standing up.

A bird is standing on the van looking at the zebra walking across the road.

I am a beautiful bird , my feathers are purple and orange and fluffy like a bear.

Hot air balloon race

This week we have used a picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and then we
had to carry on the story. What I like about my writing is the full stops.

I need to improve on spelling. We also made a google draw showing the things that we would take
with us in on the balloon.

I can see the sky up above me and the birds
flying below. I can see lots of rocks and I can
see people like little toy people on the ground.
I can see lots of houses on the ground.

I have packed a sleeping bag, food, clothes,
paper, pillow, water, phone and books.

It was fun and good and I wanted to win.
